Kevin Tkachuk is preparing for September's Rugby World Cup
After last week's win over Aironi, Glasgow prop Kevin Tkachuk made a 27-hour journey to Victoria, B.C. to participate in Rugby Canada's scrum camp.

The camp was held as part of Canada's preparations for September's Rugby World Cup.

T-Bone, who is leaving the Warriors at the end of the season, told Rugby Canada: "I am indeed back in Canada at the Rugby Canada scrum camp, with Mike Cron. Glasgow had no game this weekend, so the boys were given some time off, which allowed me to come here to the camp. I've only been here for a day, but already it has been very good. Mike is a world class coach and, as such, gets his ideas and concepts across very well. As a group there has been massive improvement already!

"On the Glasgow front, I have been so fortunate to have had seven great years at a fantastic club, full of tremendous people and memories that I will cherish forever! It's not easy for Canadians, with the import regulations, to get jobs in the top flight leagues, so I have been lucky to have been at a club that believed in me as a player and provided me with an opportunity! But it is time for a new challenge, beginning with the World Cup!"

Glasgow centre Dave McCall is in the Barbarians squad that will take part in Richmond’s 150th anniversary match at the Athletic Ground on Tuesday.

Glasgow's Peter Horne (Dundee HSFP) and Stuart Hogg (Hawick) were in action at the Melrose Sevens.
