With Heineken Cup defeats to Northampton and Ulster over the last two weekends, the Warriors could have been forgiven for viewing the trip to Italy with a degree of trepidation, with Treviso having already defeated PRO12 champions Ospreys at Stadio di Monigo.
Gregor told the Evening Times: "This was massive. When you look at some of the wins Treviso have had on their patch against the likes of the Ospreys and Scarlets, and the fact that they only lost to Leinster by a single point, it puts just how good this performance was in context.
"There were so many positives and not least the fact the boys showed tremendous character firstly to bounce back from two Heineken Cup defeats but also to come from behind after Treviso had been in front.
"This has now given us a platform into the Dragons game at home in Scotstoun on Friday night and taking a bonus point from the Stadio di Monigo is something that could make all the difference down the line."
Gregor was keen to highlight some fine individual performances from the win, saying: "I was delighted for Tommy Seymour to come back from his suspension last week to claim two tries and Ryan Wilson was outstanding in the second half with some very big ball carries at key times.
"Scott Wight made a big contribution off the bench as did all our replacements and really it was a team effort."
He went on: "I'm delighted with the spirit the players showed to pursue and claim a win against extremely tough opposition.
"We didn't play as well as we wanted to in the first half and Treviso put us under pressure. But we really stepped up in the second half, and to a man we delivered.
"Niko Matawalu was another who had a great game but the boys were all terrific and we deserved the win in the end."
Glasgow face the Dragons next Friday at Scotstoun, and Gregor stressed the importance of going into the international break on the back of a win.
He said: "This win has given us a great platform into the Dragons game and it is absolutely vital we make the most of it,
"To be going into the international break with back-to-back wins and sitting third would represent a pretty satisfying first quarter and that has to be the target.
