The World Cup winner visited Scotstoun to pass on some of his knowledge and he was part of the Glasgow coaching team at the Stadio di Monigo at the weekend when the Warriors racked up their fifth straight PRO12 win with a 24-13 success against Treviso.
Glasgow head coach Gregor Townsend told the Evening Times: "To have someone like Wayne on hand at Scotstoun has been a tremendous benefit to me and the rest of the coaching staff.
"I was lucky enough to spend some time with Wayne out at his club the Chiefs in the summer.
"It was a fascinating experience to learn and absorb at first hand from the coaching team of the Super Rugby champions.
"To then have Wayne at Scotstoun and part of our coaching team at the Stadio di Monigo was again very beneficial. So a great deal of thanks is due."
Meanwhile the Warriors will face disruption to their build-up plans for Friday's night's PRO12 crunch home clash with the Dragons.
Thirteen Warriors are taking part in the three-day Scotland training camp at St Andrews which started yesterday as Andy Robinson begins the national team's build-up for the All Blacks Test on Saturday, November 17.
However that mean Gregor will be without his Scotland contingent until Thursday, and he said that will represent a challenge in the build-up for Friday's game.
He said: "Obviously we are delighted to be supplying over a third of the Scotland training squad but not getting the lads back until Thursday will make it an interesting week in terms of our preparations for the Dragons game.
"I am particularly delighted for the likes of Henry Pyrgos, Peter Murchie, Tommy Seymour and Peter Horne that their efforts for us have been recognised with a call-up.
"We are delighted to be five wins on the bounce in the PRO12 but the key to our hopes this season is to make Scotstoun a fortress. Beating the Dragons would represent another important step towards making that so."
