Break can help Glasgow

Alastair Kellock says the break can help the Warriors
Attention turned to European action at the weekend and although the Warriors are disappointed not be involved the break could help their PRO12 hopes.

Glasgow players were given last week off to recharge their batteries before starting preparations for the vital match with Scarlets in Wales on Friday

"Don't get me wrong I would rather be playing a Heineken Cup quarter-final than having this weekend off," said Glasgow skipper in the Sunday Herald.

"But some guys needed a rest, and now we have to use the fact we are not playing to our advantage, and be that little bit fresher for the following week than some of the other teams.

"We were very excited about the final result [against Munster]. But there were definitely a few things that didn't go well for us. On top of which, we definitely got a few lucky breaks at times.

"But I don't mind the fact that it left us with work to do. Sometimes, you can play a team, scrape a result and think you've cracked it. In a funny way, it's easier to see where the improvements are needed after a good win.

"They [Scarlets] beat us in Glasgow [18-13] which doesn't sit well with me. We didn't perform anywhere near the level we are at now in that game, and that's as big a motive as any. We want to show that we are a better team than we were back then."
