"We just did not turn up individually or collectively," he said. "It was pretty frustrating but we hope to make amends this weekend.
"Last week was just a minor blip because we were maybe getting a little nervous and uptight at where we are in the table and whether we can hold that.
"It was a bit frustrating but the boys have drawn a line under that and are concentrating on this weekend.
"We need to win to get in the play-offs. We'd love to be in first or second place to guarantee a home semi-final.
"It's all about the win. At the start of the season we targeted being in the play-offs, if not winning the competition.
"We want to be the first Scottish side to win the competition."
