This time last year Fraser had started a new season with Stirling County and impressed enough to be brought in to train with the Warriors. An eye-catching display in November at Bridgehaugh for Glasgow ‘A’ against Edinburgh ‘A’ earned him a six-month deal.
Fraser made the most of his opportunities, impressing the Glasgow coaches and earning a new two-year deal at Scotstoun.
Now, as Fraser prepares for the PRO12 opener against Scarlets, he's well aware of how his rugby career has changed over the last twelve months.
Speaking to glasgowwarriors.org, Fraser said: "I can't wait for the season to get underway. It's been a long pre-season, and I think every member of the squad has made real gains in that time.
"I used to work nine to five in an office, trying to fit my rugby around that and looking forward to the season at Stirling County. It's completely different now and something I would never have anticipated a year ago.”
Fraser anticipates a tight contest when Scarlets come calling to Scotstoun on Saturday.
He added: "Scarlets is a massive game. They've lost seven players to the Rugby World Cup, compared to our 20 players away, so I'm sure on paper they'll fancy their chances. However, we're confident that our work in pre-season will pay off, and that we can start our title defence well.
"To have the game at home is fantastic. At a nearly sold-out Scotstoun - I think there are only 400 or so tickets left to sell - the atmosphere should be brilliant.”
