Voted for by the fans, Mike's award reflects the positive impact he's made at Scotstoun since joining up from Newcastle Falcons.
"I have played more than I expected this season," said Mike in the Daily Mail. "To win the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month Award, which was voted for by the fans, shows an acceptance of me. I thought that might take time considering I played for a long time with Edinburgh.
"When I signed for Glasgow in the summer, Gregor (Townsend) said my job would be to help the existing scrum-halves and I would only play if I was doing really well, as they already had three top-class No 9s on their books.
"I must have been doing OK to be involved to this extent, but I know Henry is injured just now and Ali Price is a top-class No 9, who has done well whenever he gets his chance and is pressing for a starting place."
Mike or Grayson Hart will start against Racing 92 with the decision giving a a possible indication of Glasgow's approach to the game.
"Grayson is a very different player to me," said Mike. "He is very good around the fringes and has great awareness at going for the gap. He has been superb for Glasgow so far this season.
"I am a slightly different player to the one that left Scotland three years ago in that the old legs are not moving quite as quickly as they used to.
"It is more a case of me trying to generate space for other people rather than taking the space myself.
"The game-management role of the No 9 has increased quite a lot and that suits me.
"Maybe that is where my experience comes into it for the game in Paris, although we are not sure who is playing."
