The new side, who will be built upon the next generation of young Scottish players, will compete against the six existing licenced clubs - Ayrshire Bulls, Boroughmuir Bears, Heriot's Rugby, Stirling Wolves, Southern Knights and Watsonians - all challenging for the FOSROC Super Series Championship trophy.
The FOSROC Future XV will aim to better prepare Scotland's young players for the challenges of international U20 rugby and beyond.
Scott Lawson will lead the team as Head Coach, assisted by Euan Clark and Shade Munro. Following the return of the Scotland U20 squad after the World Rugby U20 Trophy in Kenya, the wider U20 coaching team will join the FOSROC Future XV as support, including Scott Forrest and Fergus Pringle.
The 17-week Championship will return at the end of July and run until mid-November. Each of the seven teams will play each other home and away apart from the FOSROC Future XV, who will play all of their games away.
The team will wear a red and black playing kit to align with the colour themes of FOSROC, with a new logo to match.
Fixtures for the 2023 FOSROC Super Series Championship will be announced in the coming days and broadcast details will be confirmed in due course.
