Nigel Carolan has extended his Glasgow stay
Glasgow Warriors can confirm the club's coaching lineup for the 2025/26 season, as the club continues its preparations for the new campaign.

The new-look coaching team will see three Assistant Coaches work alongside Head Coach Franco Smith at Scotstoun, with the first block of pre-season training commencing at the start of August.

As part of the coaching group, Nigel Carolan has put pen to paper on a new contract with Glasgow Warriors, having overseen the club's attack since his arrival at Scotstoun ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

Under his stewardship, the Glasgow Warriors attack has frequently been amongst the sharpest in the BKT United Rugby Championship, with only Leinster and the Vodacom Bulls having scored more tries in the competition in 2024/25.

The Galway native made the switch to Scotstoun after over two decades of association with Connacht, first as a player and then as a coach.

A creative centre during his playing career, Carolan worked under Warren Gatland during the 2021 British and Irish Lions Head Coach's spell in charge at the Sportsground in the late 1990s.

Speaking after signing his new contract, Carolan told glasgowwarriors.org: "I'm pleased to be able to extend my contract with the club - I've really enjoyed my time at Scotstoun so far, and I'm excited to continue on the journey that this club is on.

"We've got a strong group as we build towards next season, with a mix of established internationals, players looking to push on to that next level, and some exciting new talent coming through.

"I'm looking forward to being a part of it and continuing to build towards the new campaign - the atmosphere that the Warrior Nation created in the win over the Stormers a couple of weeks ago shows the passion with which this club is held by everyone connected with Glasgow Warriors."
