DTH Van de Merwe joined Glasgow Warriors last summer and after sustaining an unfortunate hand injury during Glasgow’s Match against Biarritz in the Heineken Cup early on the in the season, he made his comeback in the derby matches over the Christmas and New Year period. He has been in consistent form for the Warriors over the January matches scoring his first try in the second leg of the Derby match against Edinburgh at Murrayfield. DTH also wins Try of the month for that very try which was the result of a fabulous cross-field kick from Dan Parks which DTH duly ran onto and touched down in the corner.
Dan Parks has been in a rich vein of form for Glasgow and has been putting in some outstanding performances. This has clearly not gone unnoticed by Scotland Coach Andy Robinson who has since called Dan back into the Scotland squad for the RBS Six Nations.
Kelly Brown has also been in outstanding form for Glasgow, with his tireless running and big tackles he has been an ever present figure on the pitch. Kelly’s form was not only recognised in the second leg of the 1872 Cup where he won Man of the Match but also being called into Andy Robinsons Scotland squad for the RBS Six Nations.
Glasgow Warriors Supporters Club Chairwoman Carolyn Armstrong stated; “This is the first time that there has been a three way tie for Player of the Month. It really does show what great form the Warriors are in right now!”
