Petrie called up to full squad

Glasgow's Jon Petrie has been promoted from the Scotland A team in place of Ross Beattie (Bristol Shoguns) who has been ruled out because of the recurrence of the Achilles injury that affected him last autumn.

Petrie was unlucky to miss out on the original selection after impressing for Scotland A. Meanwhile Jon's fellow Warrior, Jason White, has spoken about his recall to the international squad. "I am delighted to get called up. I have experience at international level and played against France in Paris two years ago, I will know what to expect, I won't let anybody down."

White impressed in the Scotland A team's 22-22 draw with their Irish counterparts in Stirling on Saturday. "I just wanted to play well and regain some confidence after being overlooked. The whole team worked very hard for each other and the game went well. I was disappointed to get sin-binned as they scored a try when I was off the park.

"But for my tries I was lucky enough to benefit from good work by the forwards. Anybody could have scored them but I was the one in the right place at the right time. I was disappointed not to be selected for the Ireland game, but I suppose it was pretty much what I had expected to happen what with my own form and the way the Glasgow team has been performing this season.

"I came off the bench the last time Scotland went to Paris and enjoyed the experience and will be happy to do whatever the coach has in mind for me this time around."
