Italy A scored a try in stoppage time to clinch the match after it looked like Scotland A had done enough to sneak an undeserved victory. Glasgow's Andy Henderson got Scotland's only try with fellow Warrior, Calvin Howarth, converting the touchdown and adding five penalties.
It wasn't enough to overcome the Italians who won the try count 3-1, with Scotland A left to rue a number of missed chances. Rory Kerr looked dangerous throughout and was unlucky to be body checked by the Italian full back when he looked set to score. Glasgow's Jon Petrie was impressive throughout, while Andy Hall was sin-binned for offside in what was an inconsistent display from the Irish referee.
