Rory Kerr pays tribute to the fans

Rory Kerr has shrugged off his own contribution to Glasgow's victory over Edinburgh - and insisted Warriors fans were the REAL matchwinners.

Rory spoke out after the thrilling 45-33 Pro-Cup triumph over Edinburgh just three days after the shock sacking of head-coach Kiwi Searancke. A big favourite with the fans, Rory had been snubbed by Searancke all season then recalled instantly by caretaker coach Richie Dixon, who will be in charge for the rest of the season.

And Rory responded with the first of six Glasgow tries to help them kick-start their mission to win a place in the draw for next term's Heineken Cup.

Kerr said: "What more could I ask for than to score a try with my first touch of the ball. It was a wonderful moment - but the people who really mattered were the fans. The passion was back and we heard every single one of them shouting for us. We promised before kick off we would get back to playing dynamic rugby - and we delivered."
