Lineen and Munro would relish professional challenge

Sean Lineen today admitted he is in the running to succeed Kiwi Searancke as head coach of the Glasgow Warriors. Lineen said: "I'm interested in whatever comes up, but I feel confident in my ability to be head coach. Glasgow have good young players. The sooner a decision is made the better."

Shade Munro has said he would be willing to work under Sean Lineen if his former Scotland colleague becomes Glasgow head coach. "I will apply as soon as they advertise it. At the moment, I'm more concerned with my wedding this weekend, but I am very enthusiastic about the prospect of coaching a professional team.

I don't agree that there is a risk if a club coach got the job, or none more than any other coach new to the team. We haven't been coaching every day, but that's because we also work and the players work. It doesn't mean we can't coach professional players every day if given the chance."

"I've a good day job and enjoy coaching Hawks, but I've always wanted to coach professionally." said Munro.

"The assistant's role would be a challenge. I get on well with Sean and our skills could complement each other in a professional environment."
