Barry Irving marked his first start of the season with an impressive display showing great control from the stand-off berth. Irving opened the scoring with a penalty and put in eventual man of the match Rory Kerr for the first try of the game with the young stand-off converting.
Kerr showed just what the Warriors have been missing for most of the season with his willingness to get involved all over the pitch. Irving scored a further two penalties and converted a try by Graeme Beveridge after some sharp play from the Glasgow scrum-half at a Borders scrummage.
Although Glasgow were in control for most of the evening, Borders still looked capable of taking something from the game but a superb last ditch try saving tackle from Glasgow's Moffat">Stuart Moffat was probably the turning point in the game.
Glasgow fans also had the chance to bid farewell to two great servants. Andy Nicol came on with 10 minutes to go to mark his last game before retirement while Jason White showed just what the Glasgow fans will be missing when he plays his rugby at Sale Sharks next season. Both players could have been forgiven for taking things easy in their last games for the club but they showed their commitment and professionalism by putting their bodies on the line until the final whistle.
I'm sure all Glasgow fans would like to wish them the best of luck in their future career.
