The full official Celtic League programme is expected to be released on 4 July by which time the five Welsh regional teams will hopefully have their new titles.

The new names are causing some controversy in Wales where Newport and Ebbw Vale seem set for a fresh war of words after the Welsh Rugby Union settled on the name of theNewport Gwent Dragons for their region. The clubs asked the WRU to mediate after they could not agree on a name although the union have no power to enforce the title on the region. The sticking point is Rodney Parade officials want to keep Newport in the title, while the Steelmen prefer Gwent to appeal to a broader fan base within the county.

New Glasgow Warrior, Graeme Morrison, is included in the Scotland team to face England in the seventh/eighth place play-off in the Under-21 World Cup. Also selected is Stirling County scrum-half, Mark McMillan, who has a training contract with Glasgow.
