In BBC Reporting Scotland interviews, new Glasgow coaches Hugh Campbell and Sean Lineen and new team captain Cammy Murray, claimed that they are well aware of the failings of last season.
Lineen told Reporting Scotland: "Mabye the players weren't being hard enough on themselves to be honest, and it took the coach to actually tell them what the real problem was and some of the players didn't like it.
"Mabye it was the way it was communicated they didn't like."
New Glasgow captain Cammy Mather claimed that the players themselves were determined to make up for last season: "It was a very disappointing season and I think the players have a lot of resolve to improve that.
"The structure of the season has changed - it's now a season long competition with the Celtic League. There's something to build on whereas last season was a bit disjointed."
Hugh Campbell stressed the need for consistency over the new expanded league season: "It's a long league, we play all the way through the season. We play during the World Cup and we play during the Six Nations so we have to get consistency in our game.
"We'll look to play the type of game that suits the conditions but you can expect an expansive and exciting form of rugby from Glasgow."
