Connacht battled last season to stay alive when it looked like they would fold due to cost-cutting moves from the Irish Rugby Football Union.
Team manager John Fallon said: "We were overwhelmed by the level of support that emerged for Connacht Rugby last January. It was a huge boost and proof that the game is growing rapidly in the west.
"We need that support from the outset this season and already the response to the new Connacht Rugby Supporters Club has been very encouraging."
Connacht have a stand at the Ballybrit horse racing course in Galway in a bid to encourage new members to their Supporters Club, and Fallon believes that the scheme can give valuable help to a province which has lagged behind Leinster, Munster and Ulster both in rugby and profile terms.
"We are hopeful that people will join up in their droves at the Galway Races and get behind the side from the start," said Fallon.
