Lavell cleared to play in Scotland

Nick Lavell is in Glasgow's back-up squad.
Ayr's new Australian stand-off Nick Lavell has been cleared to play for the Millbrae men in their first BT Premier Division One game against Glasgow Hawks at Old Anniesland on Saturday.

Lavelle is included in Glasgow's back-up squad for this season, but until last week no clearance papers had arrived from the Canadian rugby authorities after his season spent playing there. Had the appropriate documentation not arrived, Lavell would have missed out on the first league match.

Lavell comes with a reputation as an outstanding player having turned out for New South Wales country side which beat Canada last season.

Ayr and Glasgow Hawks contribute twelve players to the Glasgow back-up squad and most of them will be turning out at Old Anniesland tomorrow.
