David Millard is back in the Glasgow team for the clash with Celtic Warriors
Glasgow have recalled David Millard to the wing for the clash with Celtic Warriors at Brewery Field on Friday night.

Rory Kerr switches to full-back in place of Moffat">Stuart Moffat who is rested while Sean Lamont moves from the right to left wing.

It will be only Millard's second start since he joined Glasgow during the summer. "It's time we gave David a run," said Hugh Campbell, Glasgow's head coach.

Gareth Maclure, Calvin Howarth, and Andrew Wilson also are back in Glasgow's starting line-up, although all three played as replacements last week. Maclure replaces Graeme Morrison at outside centre, and Howarth takes over from Dan Parks at stand-off. Morrison is rested whereas Parks is on the replacements' bench.

Andy Wilson's return is the only change in the pack. He takes over at blind-side flanker for who has an injured hamstring.

Matt Proudfoot and Simon Gunn are still unavailable, also because of leg injuries. So Euan Murray and Scott Lawson remain at respectively loose head and hooker. Fergus Thomson, Glasgow Hawks' hooker, has again been enlisted for bench duty, as he was last week.

Chris Birchall, Glasgow's summer recruit from Halifax Rugby League Club, will travel as the back-up prop, making his first appearance in the squad for a Celtic tournament match. Over the past two months he has been playing Premier One rugby for GHA.

Glasgow: Rory Kerr, David Millard, Gareth Maclure, Alan Bulloch, Sean Lamont, Calvin Howarth, Sam Pinder, Euan Murray, Scott Lawson, Lee Harrison, Andy Hall, Nathan Ross, Andrew Wilson, Donnie Macfadyen, Paul Dearlove (capt)

Replacements: Fergus Thomson, Chris Birchall, Joe Beardshaw, Rory McKay, Mark McMillan, Daniel Parks, Jon Steel

What on earth has happened to Jon Steel - one of my favourite players has been consistently left out this season. He should be merited for strength and consistent play throughout. True fans will remember some superb performances - Leinster last year and last years semi final against Ulster

Jon does seem to have fallen out the picture at Hughenden. Article by Dave Hammond in today's Herald sums it up.

It happens to most players at some point in their career, it is a tough job but i have no doubt that things will pick up for him in the near future. In this game you need luck as well as skill!!!
