Stuart said: "Glenn has been a great servant for his country and I don't think it's any surprise he's decided to call it a day after the World Cup. He is very approachable and has been a big help to me since I joined Glasgow last season. It is great training and playing alongside him and I'm sure he's got a few years left in him."
Glenn's decision opens the door for fellow Hughenden player Stuart to force his way into the plans of new national coach Matt Williams. "I suppose, with Glenn retiring, it opens the door for someone to come in and take his place."
Stuart also hopes Glasgow's wins over Montpellier in the Parker Pen Shield can help his cause. He said: "The two wins over Montpellier are just what we needed. It will do our confidence as a team and my confidence personally wonders."
