Hugh said: "Donnie Macfadyen has been playing well for us in the back row and I don't know why he hasn't been involved more in the Scotland set-up.
"We have a very strong half-back partnership in Graeme Beveridge and Dan Parks or Calvin Howarth, good wingers in Rory Kerr and Sean Lamont, and a strong midfield with Alan Bulloch and Graeme Morrison.
"Edinburgh did very well earlier this season and their players have been rightly rewarded with places in the national squad. I'd like to think that this time next year there will some Glasgow players in a similar situation."
