"At the moment I'm just concentrating on training and getting that right, but if it happens, it would be a huge opportunity for me. And if you do start a game it's easier. You're starting at the same pace as everyone else whereas if you come off the bench you have to adapt to a certain speed of the play.
"The first taste of international rugby I had was in Wales when I got on with 35 minutes to go. They were playing such an expansive game, going from sideline to sideline so I was running all over the place. Coming from the Celtic League to that level it was quick but it's something I'll get used to. There's been a lot of talk about our kicking game against Italy. I didn't think it was that bad but obviously that would be one area where I would want to do well in.
"But it's also about being in position and organising the team and that's what I would do my best to do, and if I get the chance I'll be looking forward to it."
Dan played for Australia Under-21s and admits he had all but given up hope of playing international rugby when he signed for Glasgow last year. "I'm 25 now and have been playing club rugby for six years and obviously I was never given the chance at the next level for Australia. It was frustrating for me at times but it was something I learned to live with.
"But I got an opportunity to come over to Scotland and took it and the rewards are there now. My goals when I first arrived were to do my best for Glasgow and to try and secure my stay and to get anything else was an added bonus. So to get a chance to represent Scotland was a huge honour for me."
