Scotland all the way for Sean

It's Scotland all the way for Sean Lamont
Glasgow's Sean Lamont claims there was no chance of him giving up on his childhood dream to play for Scotland.

Sean could have taken advantage of IRB rules residency rules and applied to play for England, but that was never going to happen!

Sean said: "I grew up in Blairgowrie and moved down to Nottingham with my mother when I was about 11. I didn't start playing rugby until I moved to England. I could have applied to play for England through residency but, to be honest, I would never have wanted to. My family would disown me anyway!"

Sean's mum was absolutely determined that despite their move her son wouldn't forget his roots. "She always said that I had to play for Scotland at something, at anything, and she was always confident that I would," he said.

"It is Scotland all the way for me. I was born in Scotland, with Scottish parents and have Scottish grand-parents, as well, and to play for Scotland is all I have ever wanted.

"My first representative honours came when I was called up into the Scotland Sevens side after playing for the NRG Thistles. From there, I have moved on.

"I joined Glasgow at the start of the season. My aim was simply to stay a professional player. To get called up to the full squad is a great honour and surprise. I have enjoyed a good run at Glasgow and have been getting regular games. I have been grateful for the chance to showcase my talents.

"The talent and ability of the players I am involved with in the Scotland squad are very impressive' it is a step up. The game-plan coach Matt Williams has in place is a good one, too. Now it is down to us to go out and execute it."

Yep.
That is the Sean La Mont (?) I recognise. My German girl friend, Ruthi, thinks cute!

I couldn't have expressed these sentiments better myself.
We will be in the £65 seats supporting our youngsters on Sunday.

Best of luck Scotland, the team, Matt, and of course Golden Boy. I hope he gets a game!
