Sean could have taken advantage of IRB rules residency rules and applied to play for England, but that was never going to happen!
Sean said: "I grew up in Blairgowrie and moved down to Nottingham with my mother when I was about 11. I didn't start playing rugby until I moved to England. I could have applied to play for England through residency but, to be honest, I would never have wanted to. My family would disown me anyway!"
Sean's mum was absolutely determined that despite their move her son wouldn't forget his roots. "She always said that I had to play for Scotland at something, at anything, and she was always confident that I would," he said.
"It is Scotland all the way for me. I was born in Scotland, with Scottish parents and have Scottish grand-parents, as well, and to play for Scotland is all I have ever wanted.
"My first representative honours came when I was called up into the Scotland Sevens side after playing for the NRG Thistles. From there, I have moved on.
"I joined Glasgow at the start of the season. My aim was simply to stay a professional player. To get called up to the full squad is a great honour and surprise. I have enjoyed a good run at Glasgow and have been getting regular games. I have been grateful for the chance to showcase my talents.
"The talent and ability of the players I am involved with in the Scotland squad are very impressive' it is a step up. The game-plan coach Matt Williams has in place is a good one, too. Now it is down to us to go out and execute it."
