Glasgow do just enough

Glasgow grabbed their first Celtic League points of the season with a 10-7 victory over Borders at the Greenyards.

Former Glasgow player Moffat">Stuart Moffat put one over on his old club when he went over for a try for Borders, but Sam Pinder got Glasgow on the board with a try after a great break.

Dan Parks edged Glasgow ahead with a penalty but that was it for the scoring, and the rest of the match was marked by a great deal of effort, but accompanied by too many handling errors for either side to exert any superiority.

This was one game I will have no problem forgetting. I know conditions weren't great but Glasgow looked knackered, like it was an end of season clash rather than the second game of the season. Maybe the SRU were right to rest the Scotland squad players after all. Need to improve massively for next week as we can't lose to the riff raff from the east again.

Still waiting to see evidence that these Poland trips do any good, just seems to knacker our international players. I thought the internationals in the Edinburgh/Ulster game looked out on their feet. The borders/glasgow game lacked any enthusiasm. This is a bit worrying with tougher games to come.

There is no doubt a number of the players have "bulked-up". It is very evident, for instance, in Sean Lamont. Hopefully, this won't mean any loss of pace.
