In today's Herald, Hugh Campbell said: "Our doctor, Gerry Haggerty, is pretty sure the bone is chipped and we believe that prognosis will be confirmed by a scan.
"He will be out of action for around three weeks, but it could be a six or seven-week lay-off.
"Crucially, we will be without him for the back-to-back Heineken Cup ties against Llanelli Scarlets early next month and we are just hoping he will be back in time for the matches with Northampton and Toulouse."
Kenny said: "Someone landed on my leg. I heard a noise and something gave way. The same thing has happened to my other ankle, so I immediately wondered if it was some kind of fracture.
"I am a quick healer, so I am hoping the lay-off will not be for too long.
"As captain, I felt the best thing to do was stay on, but in retrospect it might have been the wrong thing to do. I wasn't able to able to give it my best shot either as a player or as a leader. In addition, because Rory Lamont had gone off with a hamstring problem, there was no-one else to go on.
"It's a case now of being patient, sticking to my rehab programme and keeping the rest of the body fit."
Hugh admitted to being disappointed at Saturday's loss, after a rare win in Cardiff looked a real possibility: "I'm disappointed. We played really well early on but the big turning point came between the 20th and 30th minutes, when we had a close range line-out and a few scrums.
"We should have scored at that stage and, as we were already 10-0 up, a try would have made it difficult for Cardiff to get back into the game.
"In many ways, despite the disappointment of losing, it was good to see the young guys coming through and playing pretty well."
