Scott Quinnell is expected to make his return from injury when Llanelli take on Glasgow in the Heineken Cup at Hughenden on Sunday.

British Lion, Quinnell, has been struggling with a knee problem for the last three weeks, when he limped off during the Celtic League match against Cardif Blues.

"It looks as if Scotty will be available," confirmed Scarlets director of rugby Gareth Jenkins.

"We will also have all our internationals back which will strengthen our 22. Having a strong bench makes a big difference."

Llanelli need to win to have any hope of progressing in the Heineken Cup competition, and after this weekend's 22-9 defeat of Ulster, Quinnell's return will be welcomed by Scarlets' fans, looking for a change in their team's fortunes.

As well as Quinnell, skipper Simon Easterby, Dafydd Jones, Dwayne Peel, Iestyn Thomas, Mark Taylor and Matthew Watkins are all expected to be available this week.

On the minus side Canadian international prop Jon Thiel could face the rest of the season on the sidelines.

Thiel was last week rushed to hospital with a calf infection that needed urgent surgery.
