Donnie out for three months

Donnie Macfadyen will be out for three months
Donnie Macfadyen will be out of rugby for about three months after an operation on his left knee revealed that the damage was more extensive than had been expected.

"He'll miss the Six Nations' Championship," David Jordan, Glasgow's chief executive, reported today. "We probably won't see him again in the Celtic League this season."

Glasgow's last scheduled league game is against Leinster at Hughenden in mid-April, though Celtic Cup games follow later that month and in May.

Three other Glasgow players, Rory Kerr, Sam Pinder, and Colin Gregor, are having operations this week. Rory is having a knee operation following injury last month whereas the two others are having groin surgery.

That's a bitter blow for Donnie, Glasgow & Scotland. Our sympathies to him, he must be pretty gutted.

Hopefully his recovery will be good - we'll need him for the Celtic Cup!

Really just echoing what Julian said, real shame, all the best Donnie for a quick recovery.

Arse! What a blow! No 6N. Possibly Lions place in jeopardy. Out of the league? SH*T!

When it rains it pours eh?

Sympathies to you Donnie. Been a star all season!

Donnie - enjoy the rest while you can and come back fitter than ever! You will be greatly missed on the field but will be given a huge welcome in the Beer Tent if you care to join us!

Yeah Donnie should join the fans - think of it as a sin-binning!

Donnie & Sin-Binning in the same sentence....surely not!!??!! Seriously though best wishes for a full recovery Donnie!

Hopefully it won't be long till your back on the field....well more time on the actual playing field rather than the time you spend sitting in that sin-bin!

Absolutely gutted for Donnie - he's been a true Warrior over the last couple of seasons, and to have the possibilities of 6 Nations and Lions taken away is a real sickener.
