John Beattie starts for Scotland U21s

Glasgow apprentice John Beattie is in Scotland's team for the under-21 international against France at stade Pierre Rajon, Bourgoin, a week on Friday.

Glasgow clubs are well represented in the team with Steven Manning and Stuart Fenwick from Ayr, A J McFarlane from GHA, and Scott Forrest from Glasgow Hawks in the starting XV.

McFarlane's GHA colleague, Iain Kennedy, is among the replacements. So is Willie Brown, the Hillhead/Jordanhill prop.
