T-bone in form for Canada

T-bone scored one of the three Canadian tries
Glasgow's Kevin Tkachuk was in try scoring form for Canada when they beat USA in Tokyo in the IRB sanctioned Toshiba Super Cup with a hard fought 30-26 victory.

The Canadian victory combined with Japan's 23-16 win over Romania sets up a re-match of last year's tournament final as Canada will play Japan for the 2005 cup title on Sunday May 29th.

Canada's scoring was directed by Derek Daypuck who had a perfect day kicking for posts. Daypuck converted on three penalty opportunities and made good on three try conversions for a 15 point afternoon. Try scorers for Canada included T-bone, centre Ryan Smith and replacement hooker Aaron Abrams.

Match report can be found on the Rugby Canada site.

Good to see Kevin on the scoreboard for Canada. Interestingly enough his front row partner Aaron Abrams, who also scored a try, was being tracked by Edinburgh & Glasgow last season.

Congratulations also to a two former team-mates of mine in the USA. Mark Griffin & Mike Mangan who both got their 1st caps for the USA.
