Scott said in today's Mail on Sunday: "It's a concern that we had so much of the game but didn't score the points, but the fact that we had that pressure means we have something to work on.
"It was a prime example of what happened last season. We dominated the game but eventually lost it. It's frustrating that we haven't quite got that right yet."
Scott's been the subject of a lot of attention with the departure of Gordon Bulloch to Leeds and the Scotland skipper's retiral from international rugby.
"I'm not a big fan of all this talk about filling Gordon Bulloch's boots. I've got enough to worry about without all that. I think you earn the sort of reputation Gordon has, you just don't step in.
"He's played for Scotland 75 times - I've played in one Test. He has been with Glasgow for 10 years - I'm only in my second full season. So it's not a case of filling boots. It's a case of doing the best you can in your own right. I've had a great time. I joined Glasgow and had as my mentor the Scotland captain - a guy who has been on two Lions tours and who was captain of the midweek team in New Zealand this summer. Then he moves on at just the right time for both of us."
Scott got a taste of international rugby in the victory over Romania in Bucharest, but he knows he faces a fight to hang on to that jersey. "Obviously, I want to be involved in the autumn internationals," Scott admits. "I had an experience of international rugby last year and I definitely want to sample more. But you can't take the jersey as your own. I know as well as anybody that things can change. Fergus Thomson is really pushing for his chance in the Glasgow side so, first I have to keep playing well for Glasgow, then take it from there. I'm just going to keep training and playing and try to raise the intensity of it."
