Kevin Tkachuk, Glasgow's Canadian prop, suffered an injury to the AC joint above his shoulder in Friday night's defeat by Newport-Gwent at Hughenden and is out for around a month.
Glasgow coach Hugh Campbell said in today's Scotsman: "We now have real problems at prop because Euan Murray is still to return from injury, and Ben Prescott may have to undergo a shoulder operation. That leaves us with only one full-time prop in Lee Harrison. Euan might make it back this week, but if he doesn't we'll be looking for a club prop to step up, probably Eric Milligan (of Glasgow Hawks)."
Glasgow's squad is already being stretched with skipper Jon Petrie expected to be out until next year after damaging his shoulder in teh defeat to the Dragons on Friday. "We're looking at three to four months recovery," said Hugh, "and as well as missing a lot of games for us he now has a lot of work ahead to get back for the Six Nations."
"It's a terrible blow for JP personally, and we feel for him, and, of course, it's a massive blow for Glasgow to lose our captain so early in the season."
Hugh stated he had not yet decided on a new skipper, but Dan Parks, who steered the team in JP's absence, is a likely front-runner.
