JP is set to miss the first half of the season after suffering a badly dislocated shoulder during Friday's defeat to the Dragons at Hughenden.
The Warriors will now be without their onfield leader for the opening rounds of the Heineken Cup and JP has been forced to target the Six Nations as his comeback target.
But his back-row colleague Stevie Swindall insists JP's plight can only bring out the best in the rest of the squad.
Steve said in today's : "The situation with Jonny is a huge blow. It is always a big deal when you lose your captain.
"But we have to move on and it is up to everyone else in the squad to raise their game and stand up to be counted. We all feel for Jonny and I know I'll be right up for the challenge over the next few months along with the rest of the guys."
Dragons prop Rhys Thomas was yellow-carded for his part in the ugly scenes that led to JP's problems and yesterday coach Campbell was still studying video footage before deciding whether to demand action against other possible culprits.
Hooker Scott Lawson said: "Jonny is a major part of the Glasgow and Scotland teams and the major concern for us is not whether it was a cheap shot or not, but that he will be missing for quite a while."
