Hefin is set for his Glasgow debut tonight in the Celtic League clash with Cardiff Blues at Hugenden (ko 7.30pm).
And it comes just a week after Hefin made his final Super League appearance for Huddersfield against Wigan.
He admitted he could not have chosen a better team with which to make his comeback to the union code. Hefin, who will start on the bench, said: "I can't wait to square up to Cardiff because I was with a lot of their guys in the Wales Under-21 set-up a few years back.
"The fact that I know them will give me extra incentive to make a meaningful impression.
"It is exactly what I was hoping for and I don't foresee any problems about adapting back to union.
"I aim to make as succesful a transition as Scott Gibbs, who was one of my all-time sporting heroes."
Warriors coach Hugh Campbell is eager to build on last weekend's stunning victory over Euro giants Munster and insisted he has no worries about using Hefin immediately.
Hugh said: "The guy is a class act, no matter what code you are talking about. It should be a smooth switch for him and what we have seen in training, there will certainly be no fears about his tackling ability.
"He may not be the biggest lad in the universe, but his hits are solid."
