Rory Lamont broke his jaw in last night's match
Rory Lamont will undergo an operation to repair damage to his jaw after breaking it in last night's game with Border Reivers at Firhill.

Rory broke his jaw in a clash after just ten minutes but played on for the full game. It's his second fracture in two games after damaging his cheekbone in the win over Munster.

Rory hopes to be back in four weeks.

Isn't this leading on from the "injury" in Munster? Why was he playing in the first place if this could have happened (assuming its related)?

It's totally unrelated.

Jaw injuries, particularly upper jaw injuries are common in rugby.
Rory's uncle, and my brother as well as myself experienced them. In my case it was an awkward frontal tackle that caused my antrum to collapse dropping my eye. When I reported to my captain, a Major in the APTC, that I had serious double vision he advised me to catch both balls which I attempted to do for the remainder of the game.
This left me cross-eyed in the vertical!
I was treated by an Army dental surgeon (!) for my eye condition who advised that as my income didn't depend on my good looks, I should not worry about it and that my brain would adjust to being cross-eyed.

I did and it didn't

The very best of Highland Scottish to you, Rory man!

Just as well you didn't have to tackle Phil Horrocks-Taylor horrocks would have gone one way and Taylor would have gone the other and you would have been left with the hyphen
