'Muir the merrier for Sean Lineen

Sean Lineen is looking forward to taking on his former Boroughmuir colleagues
Glasgow coach Sean Lineen is looking forward to a reunion with two old colleagues when the Celtic League throws the Warriors and Edinburgh Gunners together next season.

The fixtures have just been released and Glasgow are scheduled to face Edinburgh on September 29 at Murrayfield.

And that means Seans will be pitting his wits against the new Edinburgh interim coaching combo including ex-Boroughmuir colleagues, Henry Edwards and Iain Paxton. And, casting aside rivalries, Sean welcomed Edwards and Paxton to their roles. He said in the Edinburgh Evening News: "The best advice I can give is to enjoy the job - and it helps that I know both Henry and Iain have thick skins."

As a player, Sean shared in a Premiership triumph with Edwards in 1990-91 while his coaching partnership with Paxton is renowned at Meggetland for bringing home both a league title and Scottish Cups. Sean added: "While Henry is respected for having been an assistant at Edinburgh for seven years before becoming SRU performance director and knows the ropes I am delighted that Iain has broken through.

"Over the past 18 months Ian has worked very hard as Scotland U21 coach and suffered a bit of frustration, no doubt, at missing out on week-to-week rugby.

"Iain has a tremendous work ethic and is very passionate about Scottish rugby generally.

"As for Henry he is a very forceful character who will get his points across. Just as importantly the players will know what to expect from Henry.

"I'm delighted for both him and Iain and look forward to the competition with Edinburgh on the back of some good pre-season work at Glasgow."

He says all the right things, doesn't he? lets see if he can inspire the lads to deliver. I really do believe that we are going to do much, much better next season. We have good players coming in where as last season the flow was all in the opposite direction.
Good luck Sean!
