Kevin Tkachuk is on international duty with Canada
Today, Warriors prop Kevin Tkachuk flew out to join the Canadian national squad ahead of their Rugby World Cup qualifier against the USA in Newfoundland on 12 August.

Speaking before his flight, Kevin, the Warriors player of the year, said: "I'm definitely looking forward to it. I've not played with Canada since the Autumn internationals as I didn't take part in the Churchill Cup because I needed a rest but I can't wait to get back into it and prove to everyone involved that I'm still the guy for the position.

"Canada playing the USA is like Scotland playing England – they're of course our neighbours and it's always a very passionate and very physical encounter. I admit that we're not real big fans of them when we get on the pitch!"

On making the change from club to international rugby, he added: "It's a pretty quick transition and I tend to settle in fine. I've known most of the guys for a while and played several Test matches with them but I also look forward to meeting the new players too."

If Canada win, they will automatically qualify for next year's world cup. However, defeat means taking on Uruguay both home and away.

No matter the score, T-bone will be travelling straight back to Scotland and the Sunday after the game for the start of the season with the Warriors.

no apologies for another blast whilst we have our Canuc......

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee
