Dan calls for the Hughenden factor

Dan Parks wants the Hughenden crowd to play its part on Friday
Dan Parks says the Glasgow fans can play their part to help the Warriors to a place in the last eight of the European Challenge Cup.

Glasgow take on Saracens at Hughenden on Friday knowing a win could secure a home tie in the quarter-final of the competition and the stand off wants the supporters to shout the team to victory.

A small group of fans made the trek to Italy to watch Glasgow defeat Gran Parma and Dan made it clear how much it was appreciated.

Dan told The Scotsman: "It wasn't a massive contingent at Parma, but what they lacked in numbers they more than made up for in terms of noise and enthusiasm.

"The players love that sort of thing and it could make all the difference if every one of our people gives it pelters when we take on Saracens.

"We don't just want to hear them when we start to get a few points on the board - we need to be aware of them the very second the starting whistle blows."

Couldnt agree more with that last statement. It seems that when Glasgow start to lose the fans go silent. Its not just about just cheering when they are winning, its also about shouting the team on when they start be falling behind. We should be giving the players the boost they need to get going and win the points and giving them more of a reason to win. COME ON GLASGOW!!!!

Absolutely! Rugby supporters from all over the West of Scotland should be getting out to Hughenden on Friday to support their pro-team and make some noise. A return to Fortress Hughenden. Lets hope the game is suitably publicised so that nobody in Glasgow is any doubt where and when the match is on.

Alan Gaffney, the Saracens Director of Rugby said of Hughenden:-"It's not an intimidating place, it's just there are a number of little things that we have to make the players aware of and be ready for."

Is it just me or does anyone else take this as a challenge to make as much noise as possible to ensure our home ground is a little more intimidating for the Londoners? Lets all ensure the players know that we are there and that what they are trying to achieve matters to us.

GO ON WARRIORS!!!

Whats a realistic target in terms of crowd numbers?

should be hoping for 4-5,000 for such a match, but not sure I can see that happening.

There seems to be a base support of 1,500 - 2,000 max, which can be swollen on occasion by large travelling support from the likes of Ulster or perhaps Edinburgh.

3000 would be progress. The team have done their bit -two great home wins, a really hard grafted win in Narbonne, 6 tries in Parma when not really playing very well. A repeat of the Saracens match of two (?) years ago would do just nicely. Allez Glasgow.
