Rory told The Herald: "It will be a massive opportunity and I think we can go all the way in this competition. The whole team really believe that. We've got a great opportunity and if we do well in this competition we can use it to build ourselves up in the Magners League."
Rory went over for two tries in the 47-17 win in Parma on Saturday and was pleased to get back among the points. "It's always good to score. I haven't scored a huge number this season so I'm happy enough coming here and doing it," he added.
"I've been pleased overall. I didn't get my hands on the ball enough against Edinburgh and the Borders, but I'm happy with the way I've come back from injury. It took a while to get my fitness and speed back but I feel like I'm getting better with every game.
"You want to be scoring tries and making breaks, but there are plenty other aspects of the game. I've been particularly happy with my defence overall, especially when I'm playing full-back and coach Gary Mercer has helped me a lot with that. So even when I'm not getting the ball much I am happy with the rest of my game.
"Obviously the most important thing was the result," he said of Saturday's 47-17 win, their third successive away victory. "We didn't perform particularly well. We made so many mistakes and so many turnovers, but at least it's an indication that we are getting better as a team that we still racked up a few points.
"We thought if we got a couple of tries early on their heads would go down, but we gave them the ball too many times and they kept fighting.
"We're really enjoying playing together. Guys are confident. We know on paper we're a good team and over the past couple of months we've started to show that."
There are no fears of Rory and the rest of the team losing perspective though - last week's defeat to Ulster will ensure that. "Ulster was a massive disappointment," he acknowledged. "We felt we had the opportunity to put them away but when you're playing the Magners League champions you have to take your chances. We were in that game without playing particularly well. When things do come right, and they will, we will have a really good team. We have to be at our best to beat the likes of Ulster and Saracens."
