Max Evans joins brother Thom at Glasgow
Glasgow Hawks' winger Max Evans, brother of Thom, has joined the Warriors.

The Warriors have completed the signing of Max on a deal until the end of the current season after he impressed during a trial period.

Thom will officially welcome Max to the club on a visit to Copland Primary School, Burndyke Court, Govan Road, Glasgow, tomorrow (Wednesday 28 February) at 2.15pm.

Max said: "This is a great opportunity for me and I am looking forward to playing alongside Thom in the future."

Thom added: "We have been playing sports together for longer than I can remember but it will be great to be together in a professional capacity."

Glasgow head coach Sean Lineen is convinced Max will follow Thom into the hearts of Warriors supporters.

He said: "Max will prove to be invaluable addition to our squad.

"Thom is already a hit with our supporters and now we hope Max will also become a vital player for us."

This presumably means he will have to drop out of the club international squad?

If Glasgow are signing a player who presumably wasn't good enough first time round for Glasgow when he was given a trial, let go then dropped into club rugby then does this give an indication of who else is heading out the doors in the Glasgow squad?

I wouldn't have thought it would have much to do with Max Evans replacing someone heading outwards at the end of the season.

The contract he's been offered by the SRU is only till the end of the season. In reality that's just a three month contract which will see six games.

The trial period was his time with Glasgow Hawks. He hasn't played for Glasgow Warriors before now - apart from the odd development game.

How can his trial for Glasgow Warriors be at Glasgow Hawks? The two clubs are separate and a contract should be based on performances in training, development matches and friendlies for the warriors. Everyone seems to assume that Hawks are a feeder club for the warriors, which in reality is probably the case, but any trial period at Glasgow Hawks should be for a place in the Hawks team.

and he has proved himself at Hawks like Eric Milligan-Euan Murray-Graeme Morrison-Fergus Thomson-Glenn Metclafe--Steve Swindall etc

to be honest with you. Leave Max alone. Its only for 3 months and if he is good we can hopefully keep him next season if not then we let him go. Let him have his chance!

Leave Max alone? Who's slagging him off like? I was just telling it how it is, a three month contract.

Yeah it is a three month contract but it could lead to more.
