New test for Moray Low

Moray Low is enjoying life as a pro
Glasgow Warriors prop Moray Low has packed a lot into his short time at pro level.

After putting in some great performances for Glasgow and having caught the eye of Scotland coach Frank Hadden, it's hard to believe this season is Moray's first as a full-time professional.

Moray faces another challenge tomorrow when the Warriors take on the powerful Saracens team at Vicarage Road in the Heineken Cup. In last season's Challenge Cup the Glasgow pack were over-powered by Saracens in the scrums - an area that ultimately cost the Warriors victory.

"For myself this will be one of my biggest challenges so far," Moray told The Herald. "I'm looking forward to it. It will be tough but we have to go in there and look to disrupt them which we can do with the pack we've got. People are starting to take notice which is good. We want to become a force and show that our forward pack can be as strong as anybody's."

"They're a big pack and base a lot of play on their scrums. That's what gets them going forward with momentum, so that's a massive challenge for us. Looking at last year, the scrum cost us the game."

Moray says he has been helped greatly by Mike Collins, the former Waikato chief who has joined Glasgow this season, as well as Hugh Campbell, the club's former head coach, who has run specialist scrummaging sessions. Dougie Hall, who has yet to play for his new club due to injury, has also helped out on the video analysis front.

"This is my first proper year as a professional so getting all these tips from these guys is what you want. You can feed off that information," said Moray.

Shade Munro, Glasgow's forwards coach, claims his pack are better prepared this time around and that Moray has played his part in that.

"I don't think it's any different in terms of what we're up against this year," said Shade. "They've picked a team that's similar to the one that faced us last year with a big front row and Moray is definitely key for us at tighthead. However we've worked a fair bit of the season from pre-season right through to now and they're much more knowledgeable about what to do against scrums like that than they were last year.

"Partly because of that we are going there knowing we can beat them."
