Thom and Moray in Scotland squad for Argentina

Thom Evans is off to Argentina
Glasgow's Thom Evans and Moray Low are included in the Scotland squad for the June visit to Argentina.

The uncapped duo are joined by another Warrior, hooker Dougie Hall, who returns to the international set-up after injury.

French-based players, including Simon Taylor, Nathan Hines and Chris Cusiter are omitted, while brothers Sean and Rory Lamont are sidelined by injury.

Two extra backs and three additional forwards are still to be selected once the domestic season is over.

Mike Blair continues to captain the side in the absence of the injured Jason White.

"Experience is a precious quality at international level and we will look to Mike and a number of our seasoned professionals to set the tone on this tour," said head coach Frank Hadden.

Scotland will play two Tests against the Pumas on 7 June (Rosario) and 14 June (Buenos Aires).

"We are fully aware of the size of the challenge but it's one we're looking forward to," added Hadden, who will be assisted by Sean Lineen and Andy Robinson.

"Argentina have made enormous progress over the last ten years and thoroughly deserved to be ranked third best side in the world.

"We ran them close in the quarter-final of the World Cup and we're fully committed to reversing that result in June."

Excellent news - well done to both Thom and Moray! Well deserved. And good to see Johnny Beattie also back in the first XV squad - Frank was obviously paying attention at Ravenhill!

Hmmm, from the way the backs are listed it looks like Chris is being selected as a full-back.

Frankly, Alistair, who here cares where he plays? ... so long as it's not on the wing taking Thom's place!! He deserves a "run" there!

How did Dougie Hall get the nod for this tour? He's not exactly been setting the world on fire has he?

Brilliant news for Low and Evans tho. It'll be great to see them on the International stage. Talk about a baptism of fire tho!!
