Glasgow confirm team to take on Dragons

Calum Forrester starts for Glasgow
Glasgow Warriors have made four changes, one positional, to the team that started last weekend’s historic Heineken Cup victory over Toulouse in France for this Sunday’s visit of Dragons to Firhill (ko 3.00pm).

Fresh from his call-up to the Scotland squad this week, stand-off Ruaridh Jackson is the only new face in the Warriors’ back-line.

On his return from injury to front-line duties, Ruaridh commented: “It’s been quite a hectic, but very enjoyable, week. It was a bit of a shock to get a call-up to the Scotland training camp and now I’ve been given my second start for Glasgow in the Heineken Cup.

“I loved every minute of the Bath game and I can’t wait to be involved again from the start this weekend.”

In the pack, the front five remains the same whilst both Calum Forrester and Johnnie Beattie return to the back-row. The versatile Kelly Brown moves from blindside to openside flanker as a result.

With two domestic starts for the Warriors already to his name, Calum is delighted to be handed his first in European competition.

“I’m absolutely delighted to get another start for Glasgow,” he said. “It’s been frustrating not to have played as much first team rugby as I would like but I’m determined to take my chance on Sunday in a massive game against the Dragons.”

Good team, Coach. Nice blend of in form players and ones with points to make.

Good team, nice to see Callum and Ruaridh in the team and Stevie and Mark on the bench. Strong backs and tight scrum, go Glasgow and keep up the momentum.

Yep, good team - agree with gnasher re the mix of in-form players plus ones who need to prove a point. Good luck for Sunday - hope it works.

I presume Barclay is being rested prior to the Scotland training session on Monday or is he injured?

I understood Barclay was being rested because of the hard games he's played and to give him some recovery time ahead of the 6N

There is a lot of impact on that bench - good calls. I am really looking forward to Sunday!

Kelly Brown is becoming a real Glasgow hero - I know he will do a sterling job at OS. Barclay and him have set a pretty high bar - good incentive for the other loosies...

Looks like Dan's getting a break ahead of the 6N as well. Looks a good squad, enough young players who will want to prove a point, plus some of the Toulouse heros. It's well worth putting Ruaridh in this. It looks like he's up to the job and he needs the experience.

Apparently Shawzy has been playing really well for Hawks, will be interesting if he gets much game time.

I Hope Mark Macmillan gets a run out in this game. For me things start happening when he is in possession. Good luck to the boys this Sunday.

Things happened in Toulouse with Budgie at scrum half!
