Al was talking after Glasgow's final home game of the season which ended in a 37-29 defeat to Scarlets.
Al told the Evening Times: “We have to learn lessons from games like this for next term. This game encapsulated our whole season in 80 minutes.
“At times we played some great stuff and looked like we would take control only to let sloppy mistakes cost us.
“We wanted to go out on a high in front of a big home support, and although it was a cracking game it was not the winning send-off we wanted.”
Al had words of praise for Bernardo Stortoni who is one of six Warriors moving on at the end of the season.
Al said: “It was great for Bernie to get man of the match in his final home game. He has been a great servant for Glasgow.”
DTH van der Merwe continued his good form grabbing two tries and his skipper believes the flying winger can make an even bigger impact next term. He said: “DTH has shown he is an exceptional finisher. He has had a great season scoring as many tries as he has when it has not been a good season for us.”
Warriors head coach Sean Lineen says his young team will continue to develop.
He said: “We have one game to go with Leinster and we will do everything we can to go out on a high note in that one. But we can, and will learn, from this season and come back stronger.”
