Chris told the Evening Times: “We have been starting games slowly this season and the match against Edinburgh was no different. We have been making life hard for ourselves.
“It is taking us a long time to get back into games. I think it is just about executing properly. We have to be more switched on from the kick-off.
“We scored three tries against Edinburgh at Murrayfield and actually played some good rugby towards the end of the match. But we have to make sure we play for the full 80 minutes.
“We have to start better at Firhill on Sunday. We will have a really good crowd behind us and that makes such a difference to the team.
“There is a lot of expectation on us in this game. There has been so much talk about this game over the festive period. But hopefully we will rise to the occasion.
“Our main priority is to win the game and pick up all four points.
“We must win our home games if we hope to maintain our good start in the league.
“If we lose one or two games then we can very quickly fall down the table. Picking up four points this weekend is essential.”
