Donnie Macfadyen will present the match ball at tonight's match
Former Glasgow backrower Donnie Macfadyen will present the match ball at tonight’s match against Connacht at Scotstoun.

Ronnie, who retired in 2008 due to injury, was a firm favourite during his time at Glasgow, and is understandably excited about the opportunity to return this evening.

Speaking to glasgowwarriors.org, he said: “It’s a big honour to be coming back to the Warriors and presenting the match ball.

"I was really touched when I was asked if I would like to do it, and both my daughter and I are really looking forward to it.”

Despite having been retired for almost seven years, Donnie, who was capped 11 times for Scotland, still remains in contact with the sport he loves.

“I’m currently working for a rugby company in Edinburgh called First XV, and I’m also looking to establish myself as a rugby writer. I’ve been blogging for First XV and I’m also writing for SCRUM Magazine, so I keep an eye on what’s happening.

“It’s absolutely incredible how the Warriors have developed as a club. I never played at Scotstoun, but I hear the facilities are excellent. It was also amazing to see what they achieved last season.

"I’m a little bit envious of those players, as I’d love to have been involved in that day myself, but it’s great for Glasgow and for Scottish rugby as a whole.”
