Tough weekend for Scotland

Fergus Watson's fine try was on of few bright spots in a disappointing weekend for Scottish teams
It was another tough weekend for Scotland's international teams at the hands of their Irish counterparts over the weekend.

The senior team went down to a 32-18 defeat to Ireland at Murrayfield on Sunday. It's the Scots 11th straight loss against the Irish and came at a cost with Finn Russell and Darcy Graham leaving the field after a clash of heads. Both players are unlikely to feature against England on February 22nd.

Duhan van der Merwe and Ben White went over for tries with Blair Kinghorn kicked two penalties but it meant little in a defeat that seemed inevitable from very early on.

On Saturday night at The Hive Scotland U20 lost out 33-15 to Ireland. The Scots fought hard but their nightmare start saw the visitors claim the try bonus after barely 20 minutes.

Scotland showed up well in the remainder of the game but had left themselves with far to much to do to threaten an impressive Ireland team. Scotland's tries came from Joe Roberts, Fergus Watson and Hector Patterson.

Glasgow Warriors went down 41-19 to the Clovers in a Celtic Challenge Cup match in Cork on Sunday.

Roma Fraser, Holland Bogan and Briar McNamara went over for Glasgow's tries.
