The Glasgow centre was shocked by his selection - he had been out for three weeks after suffering concussion. However, he is aiming to use the platform to show the national team's watching selectors at Bridgehaugh exactly what he is capable of.
In an interview with the Evening Times Andy said: "I'm really looking forward to this game. I was absolutely delighted to be given the nod as I have hardly played in the last few weeks. I couldn't play for three weeks after picking up concussion in the Sale match. I had to see there were no aftereffects and fortunately everything is OK. I was lucky to get a run out for Glasgow against the Scotland Under-21 team last week and that probably swayed things in my favour. It is really good to be picked to play."
Andy added: "It is hard to say how I have been playing this season because of the way Glasgow have been going. Kiwi (Searancke) and Steve (Anderson) have come in with some different ideas. It has been difficult to get to grips with it."
Henderson will be joined in the A side by old friend James McLaren. His former midfield partner at the Warriors is now playing in France and the Kirkintilloch lad is looking forward to teaming up with him once again. He explained: "It is always easier coming into a representative side when you have got guys around you that you are familiar with. James is probably the guy I have played most of my senior rugby next to."
