Metcalfe wants Scottish backs to make an impact

Glenn Metcalfe has called on Scotland's backs to turn possession into points in their do-or-die Six Nations clash with Wales this week.

Scotland need a win on Saturday to salvage some pride from their season and help avoid the wooden spoon. Scotland have failed to score a single try in record defeats to Ireland at home and France away and have only notched three penalties.

But full-back Metcalfe is determined to change all that this weekend. He said: "I've lost count of the number of Scotland games I have been involved in when the forwards have won balls for us on the front foot and we haven't made enough use of it. We are always trying hard to break defences down and it's been a frustrating time not managing to pull things off. We have to try and draw positives from the results in the Autumn Tests and use them against Wales."
