The case surrounding Euan Murray's suspension took another twist last night
The Euan Murray saga took yet another twist late last night as the appeals panel failed to come up with a decision on his controversial 12-week suspension.

Euan had appealed against the suspension imposed two weeks ago by the Scottish Rugby Union in the wake of his red card in a Celtic League encounter with Llanelli Scarlets at Hughenden.

But after a two-hour hearing at Murrayfield, the decision of the appeals panel was put on hold indefinitely, leaving Euan free to play for Glasgow until a decision is made.

David Jordan, Glasgow's chief executive, told The Herald: "As things stand, Euan will be able to play in Sunday's return Heineken Cup match with Llanelli in Wales.

But we are hoping for a final verdict on his appeal before then so that everyone knows where he stands. It could however, be as late as next week before we hear his fate."

Murraygate rumbles on... This is surely one of the most embarrassing inditements of the state of the SRU to date. Why on earth are they paying good money (which they reportedly can't afford as they have Committee mouths to feed during the Six Nations after all) on legal costs - they've made an arse of the whole situation, so why can't they just admit to making an arse of it, and let Euan get on with his career?

Simply because the men who are running the SRU are like politicians. They won't admit when they mess up or make mistakes and no matter what it costs they can always hike prices up (at Murrayfield)to compensate for the burning of money.
